As director of all band classes at PHS, advisor to the Drum Line and Color Guard, and the former Choral Director (8 years), Mr. Eveland has proven himself to be a dedicated and hard-working teacher. For over 16 years, he has elevated the Music Program at Petaluma High School to higher levels of performance; and has developed the Wind Ensemble, the Drum Line, the Jazz Combo, the J.V. Jazz Ensemble, the annual Mystic Theatre Benefit Concert, and is the Director of the Petaluma Music Festival. Under his direction, the bands, choirs, Color Guard and Drum Line have placed first in numerous competitions and festivals all over California. Mr. Eveland attended undergraduate school at San Jose State University, and received his Masters of Music degree and teaching credential from the University of California, Davis.
Elizabeth Robertson has been a faculty member of the PHS Music and Fine Arts Department since 2009. She has served as an Elementary Music Specialist with the Petaluma City Schools district since 2006. Mrs. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from San Francisco State University, a Single Subject Credential in Music from Notre Dame de Namur University, and a Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University. She has completed graduate studies in Music Education and Arts Administration at Indiana University, Bloomington. As of May 2013, she holds a Certificate of Eligibility for an Administrative Credential from Sonoma State University. Her particular professional interests include integrating the arts with the Common Core State Standards, visual and performing arts leadership, and vocal technique for developing voices. She is proud to live in Petaluma with her husband, Jacob, and our son, Andrew. In her free time, she is an avid reader, foodie, and a developing photographer.
