Marching Band Uniform Guidelines           

            The PHS Music Boosters have provided the Marching Band with relatively new uniforms.  This was an extremely large investment and we need your cooperation in keeping them in good condition for future band members to enjoy for many years to come. Uniforms will be assigned to each student, and the uniforms will be stored at the school site except in special circumstances.  

            Please notice and be aware of the replacement cost of each item issued to each member of the group*.  If any part of the uniform is lost or damaged, the student and the parents will be held responsible for replacing that part of the uniform.  Students must return the uniform pieces marked with the numbers that were assigned to them at the start of the year.  Hopefully, storing the uniforms at the school site will keep problems like these to a minimum. 

As many of you are probably aware, there will be some necessary expenses to be in the Marching Band (some are one-time only expenses).  There is an annual $75.00 usage/cleaning/replacement fee for the marching uniforms that every member must pay (a new uniform costs $500.00, a cost which is thankfully absorbed by our hard-working Music Boosters).  Because our band keeps getting bigger, we need to increase this fee to cover the cost of purchasing additional uniforms. 

  An additional one-time expense for new members only is the purchase of group T-shirts and sweatshirts.  Both shirts will have the PHS Marching Band logo on them and will cost $40.00 ($13 for the T-shirt and $27 for a hooded sweatshirt).  You will be wearing marching shoes, and all of the new students will be given the option of receiving used/recycled shoes for free.  If you would like a new pair, the cost is $25.00.  Hopefully, the shoes, the sweatshirt, and the T-shirt will last for a student’s entire band career.  The sweatshirts will be worn with jeans for all football games, and the T-shirts will be for the more casual school performances and for competitions after we are finished performing. 

  Please do send money for these items as soon as possible.  For freshmen and new band members: please make out a single check for $115.00 for all items ($140.00 if you want new shoes).  For returning band members: please make out a check for $75.00 for the usage/cleaning/replacement fee only.  All checks should be made payable to the “PHS Music Boosters”.  Payments should be sent to Mr. Eveland no later than September 9th.

*Replacement cost of each piece of the marching band uniform is as follows:

Jacket - $300; Pants - $100; Cummerbund - $25; Hat - $30; Dickie - $20; Shoulder Cord - $12; Plume - $20;
Garment Bag - $4
